Hi Guys

I have Windows XP, wondering why my Microsoft 2010 Word is missing but I now have Note which I don't kinow how to use?

I lost Word some time ago (10 months or so) but can still go into My Recent Documents and start a new Word Doc that way.

Can I reinstall my Microsoft Office package (2010 on CD, which I already have), will that work in bringing Word back on board?

And can I load this up on to a laptop? Will it delete any previous documents as it doesn't have Word on that either (an ex Govt laptop).

I'd appreciate your advice please :)

Thanks

Cath

As a first step, go to Add/Remove programs in the Control Panel.

Locate the entry for Microsoft Office 2010, right click on the entry and select Repair.

Wow, that was quick! Thank you.

Microsoft Office Professional offers neither options. If I click on Microsoft Office in the Add/Remove link it will remove it altogether? It has a Change option, but from past experience with other programs the Change option will also uninstall it?

Almost an hour and a half later, should it be taking this long to repair?  It's about 2/3 of the way through the bar now. Thanks.

That is longer than I have experienced in the past but not exceptionally so.  I have often found that is seems to stick at about 2/3rds for a while and then suddenly finishes.

And it worked. It went on til 12.30am so I had to close the computer down and restarted the whole thing again this morning. Thanks so much for your advice, I'm pleased it's up and running again :)
