My PC crashed and I work now from my laptop. When booting I received message that the HD crashed.

I Ilive far from any computer lab and to transfer the PC there will cause much time and trouble.

I thought to order a new HD by mail and to install it by myself. Is it possible or a very tech configuration steps are  needed to install a new HD?

please advise

Thanks

It is not a difficult job to install a new HDD, just make sure you get the proper replacement drive, and carefully follow the instructions.

Once you install the new HDD, you will need an original, or a  recovery CD to reinstall your operating system from.

There is some more information at this link.
