Right now I am using IE on Windows 8.1

I have had multiple people tell me not to use it because it is "not as good as Mozilla" or Chrome is better.

I have never had any problems with it and keep my comp current with MS updates and Virus database from ESET.

I guess I just wanted to know if there is something more I can be doing to protect us from the bad guys

The best browser is preferential and unique to users who finds and identify each browser's distinct features including vulnerabilities and security. But overall, it is taking the time to read and educate yourself to become more aware of the threats and apply them in your everyday internet usage.
