boot issue

on an hp pavilion p2-1119 how do i change the order of how the pc starts in bios? at startup it says hit f9 but that just lists what is in bios but not adjust the order i want it to boot in.

F9 is used to temporarily change the boot order. For example, to boot from a CD. If you want to permanently change the boot order, it should be done in the BIOS setup. I would recommend referring the official manuals for specific details.
