Hello,

Ive had this problem for quite some time now and have tried just about everything with no luck. I was wondering if maybe someone else had any ideas on this. Its very bizarre.

So about a year or so ago, I bought this HP pavilion. It came with a radeon HD 7570 graphics card. Heres where it starts to get weird;

I had it on a windows aero theme, everything was working just fine. Then i went to play my first video game on it (dead space 3). I played the game for awhile, then quit and went back to my desktop. Ever since that first that instance, i cannot use any aero effects. Its just basic.

When i go into my display it and select an aero theme, the wallpaper will change but nothing else, no colors, transparency or anything. Very strange. Ive tried a bunch of things to correct this (check windows settings,update drivers ect). There was even a tool I tried called "fixit", specifically designed to fix any aero problems, and what it told me was "your graphics card cannot display aero effects". Which is very weird because when i was using my pc before i ever installed a game and played it, aero was working perfectly fine.

any thoughts?

You should be able to do it with no file loss, I have always backed stuff up to play safe.  Have had very few that did not go Ok, with the back up the worst scenario is doing a clean install.  Time consuming but running like new again!
