Hello! I'm not sure if this should go in the hardware or software forum so I decided to post here. If this is in the wrong place please move it. Thanks!

Anyways, over the past while I have been having these random prompts that say "Warning: Your CPU fan is not functioning properly! You must turn off your computer and check it now!" with all the punctuation. The prompt has no icon, and a title of "Warning!". So I opened up my computer, and checked the fan. Everything seemed fine, and the BIOS says the fan is running also. I used Speedfan, and that also didn't report any problems. So is this something wrong with my hardware or is it something else?

Sounds more like a prank/infection of some kind.

Please download and install Speccy to provide us with information about your computer.  When  FileHippo opens, click on Download latest version in the upper right pane.
When Speccy opens you will see a screen similar to the one below.
Click on File which is outlined in red in the screen above, and then click on Publish Snapshot.
The following screen will appear, click on Yes.
The following screen will appear, click on Copy to Clipboard.
In your next post right click inside the Reply to Topic box, then click on Paste.  This will load a link to the Speccy log.

Please download MiniToolBox  , save it to your desktop and run it.
 Checkmark the following checkboxes:
• List last 10 Event Viewer log
• List Installed Programs
• List Users, Partitions and Memory size.
