Hey there, I was using W8 Enterprise and everything was alright. Today I installed 8.1 and the sound is gone. There is still the sound tray in the right corner and it looks as if there is sound when I play something. I installed the right software which is this: http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS002833 I don't know what to do else.

Thanks in advance

Hey Cryptoricus..

Same thing happened to me after upgrading to win 8.1 on Lenovo Thinkpad..

do you get a " can not start Dolby audio driver" or similar msg ?

I had a look around Lenovo forums and found a solution that worked for me .

1. Unistall the Conexant Audio Driver (from device manager).

2. Reinstall it from the drivers partition (d:\drivers\audio).

3. Install the Dolby Home Theater software (d:\drivers\audio\DolbyGUI)

Before you follow this i'd suggest you read through this page @ Lenovo

https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/IdeaPad-Y-U-V-Z-and-P-series/Doly-Audio-driver-cannot-start-after-upgrading-to-Windows-8-1/td-p/1269967/page/2

Good luck.."pcblues"

Hi pcblues..

Thank you so much for your answer. I just fixed the problem. There's a folder icon in the upper right corner in the interface of Lenovo HD Audio Manager which can be downloaded from the link in the previous post of mine. After clicking it, I checked the "Disable front panel jack detection" box and the sound came back. That's it.

Thank you again
