Alright, so whenever my laptop is used for over 1 hour, the screen goes black and it shuts off. it is an older laptop, but I have a cooling pad with it to try to keep it running. The laptop is a Presario CQ60 in good condition. Also, the mouse pad on the computer does not work, forcing me to use a mouse. If I could have advice on what to do, please tell me.

When was the last time you cleaned it?  The mouse pad can be hardware or software, first off make sure it is clean so it has good air flow a cool pad helps but will not keep a machine full of dust cool.  Go into device manager and delete the mouse pad then reboot it may come back to life, maybe not but worth a try.

If you don't stand for the flag then you will fall for anything!
