Don't know whether this is an infection or not, but I figured I'd post here first.

XP3, IE8

I'm suddenly having trouble loading 50% of Youtube videos, either directly from the site or from links.  Mostly I get the spinning buffering arrow but the video never plays.

This started happening last week after I tried to play an embeded vid in another forum.  The video was unusually choppy throughout, so I went to Youtube to play the vid directly.  This time the vid wouldn't load at all, then I noticed the same thing happening when I tried to play other Youtube vids at random. It's a crap shoot.  Some work, some don't, regardless of the vid's length.

I've already tried deleting my temp internet files, history, and cookies within IE, then rebooting.  No dice.

Youtube is moving towards HTML5, which is probably not going to be useable on IE8 once it gets finalized.

Try a different browser, Firefox, Chrome- and see if the problem occurs there. If it does, you may need to update your Adobe and Java.

Are there any potential conflicts from installing Chrome alongside IE?

Also, what antimalware/antispyware programs work well with Chrome?
