Sorry for the dumb question, but we just got a new computer with 8.1 and did a system image on an external hd.  Now I'm making a recovery drive on a usb flash.  Is copying the entire recovery partition onto the usb necessary if I already have the image, or is having that partition on a usb recommended?  If so I'm gonna need a much larger usb drive.  I guess I'm confused about the difference between the practical uses of a system image vs a recovery drive.  Thanks
