Tried most things there, but virus software just seems to crash my PC. I leave it scanning (because it takes so long) and when I come back it appears that the computer has restarted.
(Moderator edit: HJT log split from the thread below and moved to the appropriate forum. jgweed.)

Hello,

I need some more info here..

Go to next site:
http://www.virustotal.com/en/indexf.html
On top you'll find 'Browse'
Click the browse button and browse to next file:

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\msldr32.dll

Click open.
Then click the 'Send' button next to it.
This will scan the file. Please be patient.
Once scanned, copy and paste the results in notepad - I need the log later.

Then,
Download and Save blacklight to your desktop.
F-Secure Blacklight: http://www.f-secure.com/blacklight/try.shtml
Double-click blbeta.exe then accept the agreement.
click > scan then > next,
You'll see a list of all items found.
Don't choose for rename yet! I want to see the log first, because legit items can also be present there...
There must be also a log on your desktop with the name fsbl.xxxxxxx.log (the xxxxxxx stand for numbers)
Post the contents of the log in your next reply together with the results from Virustotal.

Hi, can you send me that file please for analysis?
Send it to miekiemoesATmalware-research.co.uk

remember to replace the AT in the above line with an @
(the reason to not post a complete valid e-mail address in a post is so spammers can't harvest the addresses)

Let me know in your next reply when you sent it, so I can check that mail (I only check it once in a while)

It could be possible it's indeed malware and the cause of your crashes when you scan with your antivirus..
However, it could also be a hardware related problem.. when putting stress on the cpu (for example, when you scan with an antivirus, antispyware, perform a defragmentation, perform cleanmgr..)
This can be caused by bad sectors on your drive, a problem with the temperature, (dirt - dust between the cpu fan and other fans, so make sure they are spinning freely and there is a good airflow through the computer)
