I am trying to edit my hosts file.  I right-click, and make sure that my user account can edit the file.  when I make changes to the file, and attempt to save it, it says that I need to save it as something else.  How can I fix this?

If you are using Notepad to edit, open Notepad with elevated permissions, then open the hosts file, perform the edits you want and then save.

Ok, the other option is to create a copy of the hosts file, edit the copy and save it.  Then copy the updated hosts file back to the original location, overwriting the original.
