I've got 2 security system units (Geovision 650 camera systems)

Each system is ran by a separate pc operated by win xp.

They dont have a UPS backup...

What type of UPS will i need? are they difficult to install??

How about a diesel generator. (just kidding)
The main consideration is power draw 1st, then built in surge protection quality.
With something that I'd consider mission critical, like a surveillance setup, high end would be the only way to go. With regular standby UPS's for connection to individual PC's, something in this line would work.
They're pretty much a no brainer to hook up and manuals are provided.

I would say "average" is around 100-120 running all the time.
It's really a "ballpark" though depending on how much hardware you're using.
The only accurate way to find out is to use a tester like this one.
