My friend is infected with Windows Anti-Virus Master

He is running windows 8 and the guides for removing it all are for windows 7. I got his computer to go to the command prompt and I told him to type explorer.exe but it didn't recognize the command I'm guessing isn't made for Windows 8. Any help?

Does Safe-Mode Work? If it works, try too use safe mode with networking and download and run malwarebytes anti-malware.
