I recently clicked on a rather nasty AIM virus which helped download other adware, trojans, etc. onto my computer almost immediately, before I could disconnect my internet. I think I have removed nearly everything, though SurfSideKick3 gave me a lot of trouble and am still running Selective Startup because of several remnants on my startup list. This image shows all of the things I currently have disabled:

I don't know what chbueg is and it looked suspicious since it was on there twice. SSK is still there, even though I think I've removed SurfSideKick, as are other things I think I've removed.

Can anyone help me understand what is going on and fix anything that might be wrong?

Hello Cytherea!
I think you should post a Hijackthis Logfile.
Create a folder on your hardrive to save HijackThis.exe into. A directory like c:\hijackthis. If you do not do this, you will not be able to use the backup/restore features.

Download HijackThis from:

HijackThis Download Site

Save this file into the folder you made previously and then run the program named hijackthis.exe. When the program opens click on the Config button, then click on the Misc Tools button, and click on the Check for update online button. When it completes checking and applying updates press the back button.

Now click on the Scan button and when it is finished click on the Save Log button. A Notepad window will open with the contents of this log. Click on Edit then click on Select all. Then click on Edit and then Click on Copy.

Go to this forum..
HijackThis Logs and Analysis Forum Click on New Topic on the upper right hand side of the page. Give your topic a title. Then paste the HijackThis Logfile you copied into the message field. Click Add Reply at the bottom of the page.

Someone will reply to you after reading this post. DO NOT fix any entries unless you understand what you are doing. Please be patient as the Team Members work on a voluntary basis and they go as fast as they can.
