I am baffled- need to remove and reinstall hdv split as it is not working

But

IT DOES NOT SHOW in add remove programs???

Someone said that maybe it is not suppose to show in add remove - but I have seen instructions all over the internet about removal and they all say go to add remove programs.

Please help!  I'm stuck and hung up on this!

The last version (.077 BETA, 2007) appears to be a standalone executable (.EXE file) which doesn't install...you just double click the "exe" file to run it...therefore there is no need to uninstall it, just delete the exe file.

EDIT TO ADD: I just tested this program in a Virtual Machine and indeed the program does not install, it is a standalone .exe

Why on earth would you run a Static Beta program that hasn't been updated in nearly a decade?

All attempts to connect to the developer's site return "Unable to connect"

I guess the developer was a genius as it's one of the best programs for capturing video footage into a computer.  Widely used, respected and loved by video editing peeps!!!  I guess the developer came up with the most perfect software ever and it's soooooo good - it has not needed any updating in 10 years!!

Thanks for your help. I got hdv split working again!

by the way, I did google for a fix, and did not find any that stated what you stated.  I also posted the question on cnet and someone came up with the same answer, and I now have hdv split working again.

I spent about 1 hour Googling for an answer, but every article referred to doing remove from add remove programs.

Thanks for the help!
