Hey Guys,

I was on my lap top and accidentally removed the battery while I was on it. It began running slowly so I shut it down. I restarted the computer and all I see now is "unmountable_boot_volume" on a blue screen. I have no idea how to work in safe mode, and I do not know where my xp home cd is...

Is there any way to fix this?

Hello wadewest, Welcome to BC.

With out your Windows XP Home install disk we can not even do a repair, which is what I would suggest. I will leave you a link for how to do a system repair, please print this article so you have a reference.

How to Perform a Windows XP Repair Install = http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/XPrepairinstall.htm

Suggestion, borrow a install cd from a friend and you have to have the key for this OS you have installed that should be on a sticker that should be located on your computer somewhere. Also this repair will not work correctly if you have Service Pack 2 installed. If you have Service Pack 2 installed make sure you get a cd for Windows XP Home with Service Pack 2 already on it.

Good Luck.
