Hello,

 

Been reading up on BSOD for quite a while and losing my hair over fixing the issue on my two-month old Lenovo P500 Touch. Before I attach the BSOD specs, I just wish to add that I recently installed Quick Heal Security 2014 and utorrent on my laptop, and after repeated restarts, deleted utorrent. Please help me solve the issue.

Hi

 

If the file size is larger than 512 KB, you won't be able to attach. Please compress the dumps using 7-zip and it will greatly reduce the size.

You only need to compress and attach three most recent crash dumps.

You need to disable User Account Control and reboot the machine to access Minidump folder.

Please try the below steps one by one and let me know the result.

 

:step1: Use an alternative torrent client.

 

Instead of utorrent, please try another client.

:step2: If that didn't helps, turn off "Teredo Virtual Adapter".

 

1. Open an elevated Command Prompt.

 

    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/open-an-elevated-command-prompt-in-windows-8/

 

2. Type the below command exactly and press Enter key. Reboot the system when completed.

 

    netsh interface teredo set state disabled

I think you're right about the torrent client being the issue. Ever since I've uninstalled and rebooted, the laptop hasn't entered the BSOD screen.

I'll give the other two clients a spin and get back to you. What is a Teredo Virtual Adapter by the way?

Hi

 

"Teredo" is a virtual adapter present on all Windows from Vista which is used to link IPv4 and IPv6 traffic. This is not a mandatory service and usually not used by most programs. For example, none of the browsers, FTP /HTTP download clients, Steam , Origin etc doesn't use this. Only a few programs including utorrent are known to use "Teredo". Other clients may not use it so switching the client might help. Otherwise disable "teredo" and the BSOD will stop surely.
