I am looking to get a new laptop asap, I wanted an intel i7 processor but the price is out of my range.  Is the AMD a10 quad decent for a home laptop used for mainly internet and Graduate school work?

These are the specs on laptop , it is around $600

2.5GHz AMD Elite quad-core A10-5750M accelerated processor with 4MB L2 cache, up to 3.5GHz

15.6" diagonal HD BrightView LED-backlit display with 1366x768 resolution

8GB DDR3L SDRAM

1TB 5400 RPM hard drive with HP ProtectSmart hard drive protection

SuperMulti DVD burner

802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi

AMD Radeon HD 8650G graphics, up to 4206MB total memory

dts Sound+

Seriously confused, thank you so much for input!

Hi, for internet use it has more then enough power and for graduate work it should be fine assuming you mean using Microsoft Office.
