These pop ups are killing me!!!!!!! I can't seem to figure this out. Ad-aware keeps finding things constantly and I delete them but it doesnt seem to help. It keeps finding a trojan called win32.trojan.downloader...

Hello,

It's better to print out the next instructions or save it in notepad, because you also have to work in safe mode without networking support, so this page wouldn't be available then.
It is also important you don't miss a step and perform everything in the right order!!

* Please set your system to show all files; please see here if you're unsure how to do this.

Please download Ewido anti-malware ; it is a free version of the program.
  • Install ewido security suite
  • When installing, under "Additional Options" uncheck..
    • Install background guard
    • Install scan via context menu
  • Launch ewido by double-clicking on the icon on your desktop.
  • The program will now open to the main screen.
  • When you run ewido for the first time, you may get a warning "Database could not be found!". Click OK. We will fix this in a moment.
  • You will need to update ewido to the latest definition files.
    • On the left hand side of the main screen click update.
    • Then click on Start Update.
  • The update will start and a progress bar will show the updates being installed.
(the status bar at the bottom will display ("Update successful")
If you are having problems with the updater, you can use this link to manually update ewido.
ewido manual updates
Don't run it yet.

* Start HijackThis, close all open windows leaving only HijackThis running. Place a check against each of the following:

Hello,

Well it could be possible you are still infected though, because I see next entries still present in your log - so check and fix them:

F2 - REG:system.ini: Shell=Explorer.exe, C:\WINDOWS\system32\nxxga.exe
F2 - REG:system.ini: UserInit=C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\Userinit.exe,ysfjkwl.exe

Reboot and let me know if these entries returned.

By the way, I also need the log from Panda online, because Panda doesn't clean all the infected files, that's why the log is important.

Another remark... Do you still have Spyhunter installed? The reason I am asking you is because this spyware cleaner was on the blacklist before, which means which scanners NOT to install. However, it's not on the blacklist anymore, but once a bad name, always a bad name imho. So in case you didn't purchase it, I suggest you uninstall it.
There are better and Free scanners as well. Just look in my signature.

Hello,

If you end up Spyhunter, check and fix this entry in hijackthis:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SpyHunter] C:\Program Files\Enigma Software Group\SpyHunter\SpyHunter.exe

I see now why it didn't go away - I never gave you the instructions for the fix... thought I added it as well.
  • Download Brute Force Uninstaller to your C:\
  • Unzip it to a folder of its own (C:\BFU). So the BFU-folder should be on your root. In most cases this is C:\
  • Download qoofix.bat (rightclick on this link and choose save as)
  • Place qoofix.bat in your C:\BFU - folder. (Important!)
  • Doubleclick qooFix.bat, Close all browsers and explorer folders.
  • Choose option 1 (Qoolfix autofix) and follow the prompts.
  • Please be patient, it will take about five minutes.
  • After the PC has restarted please post another hijackthis log.

what do you think?

I see a clean log here.

Now those entries are finally gone. No wonder they were not gone before - I never gave you the fix to deal with it - lol - and I really thought I did. :flowers:

Anyway, how are things running now?

things are running awesome thank you so much man. I think those items were eliminated by me either running ad-aware or spybot during one of the safe mode sessions

I recently installed spyware blaster in hopes that this stuff stays away.

My computer has never been that f'd before... how do you know which items aren't legit when I post my hijack this logs?

do you just factor out the things that windows needs, then factor out things that look legitamit?

Well; yes and no... even legit looking entries can be malware. It's actually a matter of knowing/recognising the infections... so experience is the main point here.
I already did many logs, that's why I can easily seperate bad from good now.

To keep this clean in the future, I would suggest the following things:

* Avoid illegal sites, because that's where most malware is present.
* Don't click on links inside popups.
* Don't click on links in spam messages claiming to offer anti-spyware software; because most of these so called removers ARE spyware.
* Download free software only from sites you know and trust. Because a lot of free software can bundle other software, including spyware.

Let your antispywarescanner(s) scan frequently and don't forget to update before.

And I do suggest you perform an online virusscan once in a while. (Housecall and/or Bitdefender). Because what one virusscanner can't find another one maybe can.
Also make sure that your virusscanner, the one that is installed on your system is always up to date!

Make sure your windows has the latest updates: http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/
