Hey guys, has anyone used process explorer 16 with virus total? If so, please let me know how to use this complicated program! It looks really cool. I downloaded it yesterday from majorgeeks.com, and  It's also available at the Microsoft site technet.microsoft.com.

There is all sorts of documentation on the sysinternals pages on how to use the tools.

Yes there is, and why Microsoft bought Sysinternals and hired Mark Russinovich. :)

I sent a file called thumbs.db to virus total to be scanned and now it's sitting on my desktop. It was the first time i ever used virus total, and now i don't know how to put the file back. It is a system file,  it is a windows installer file ! I found out.! I ran sfc/scannow to see if it would show something. It says everything is ok, so then i ran DISM.exe first part,  scanhealth it says no corruption found in the component store. I can't just delete it can I? Virus total says MAGIC LITERAL - CDF doc corrupt can't read, and TAGS - msi     Oh man what a mess? :lmao: I did a system restore to before i sent the file, and that's when i ran the file checkers, thinking that i could then just delete it from my desktop, but still fairly green,so i'm unsure.
