First of all my HP died, shop tells me MB bad. I go and find new computer because I don't have time to wait for a new MB to deliver (I'm a college student, no time to waste or wait). so I go last night and pick up Lenovo H series with Windows 8. I had a WD 1TB HD for back up on the HP. I plug in the Wd to the Lonovo. I get the files to DL but now when i try to open them I get a popup asking what kinda program to open XTML file. I have no Idea? Does any one have a clue, since mosat are smarter when it comes to this type of problem than me. Thanks.

What program was used to make the backup?

What instructions were provided by the developer of that program...for restoring a backup or restoring individual files?
