What is the manufacturer & model of computer and manufacturer & model of printer,  Any events showing up in Administrative Tools > Events, under the Windows > System log?  What program are you in, when you are attempting to use Ctrl-P to print?  Also is the printer set as the Default in Devices & Printers?  Have you been able to print using the Print option in programs, even though Ctrl-P is not working.
