I have Incredimail on this computer set as default yet errors keep popping up in Internet Explorer saying this page could not be opened and keeps opening pop up windows saying this .. until I go into Ctrl+Shift+Esc and close iexplorer.exe

How can I fix this?

It seems to happen if I click any links that are mailto: links..

I have already done the steps here:

http://help.incredimail.com/english/help/im/default_client.html

I read somewhere that this should work but it doesn't allow me to put this in the registry.

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\mailto]
"URL Protocol"=""

Windows tells me:

Registry Editor

Cannot import C:\User\CL\Documents\IM_Link_mailto_fix.reg: The specified file is not a registry script.

You can only import binary registry files from within the registry editor.

I put that text in a text file in notepad and then renamed the extension to .reg .. guess that wasn't the right way to do it??

Edit: Moved topic from Windows 7 to the more appropriate forum.~ Animal

Ya that worked in Sept but this time around that fix did not work. :( I think files or something in the registry is missing .. but what? Thinking perhaps installing Thunderbird and then uninstalling it might fix things? What do you think? I don't know what else to try..
