My AVG Anti Virus software found a Trojan file in my appdata folder, named Trojan Generic35 or something. When the report came up, the same Trojan was listed about 20 times. When I clicked remove, it either said successfully removed (which it wasn't because the same report came back) or usually "Unable to remove".

I tried deleting the file from my appdata folder, but it kept coming back after I hit delete. So I deleted it in Safe Mode and it seems to have been deleted. Just in case, I want to make sure. I don't think my Anti Virus software has found it, but it's still running. Plus, I only deleted the folder it found. Would it have already spread through my system?

I followed a guide telling me to delete my system restore points which I think was a mistake at this point. Is there anything I can do to find out if it's still there? If so, what can I do to get rid of it? I can't run AVG in safe mode for some reason, so I don't think I can scan in safe mode.

All help greatly appreciated.

Hello, Appears we need to get a deeper look. Please follow this Preparation Guide, do steps 6,7 and 8 and post in a new topic.
Let me know if all went well.
