So i just inhearited a Dell Poweredge 2950 and im wanting to swap out 4 of the 6 300GB SAS drives for some high Capacity SATA drive

can the PERC 6/i  Run them as 2 seperate Configurations?

and if it can, would the SAS drives be slowed down because of the SATA drives being on the same RAID card?

just to be clear i want to set up 2xSAS drives as RAID 1    and then 4 3TB Barracuda SATA drives as a seperate RAID 5

on a side note, the Original manual for the poweredge 2950 says a maximum of 4.5TB storage memory supported,

its my understanding that this is not true after modern software updates.

where would i find the new maximum storage capacity listed? or am i wrong and stuck with 4.5?

Thanks For Reading, im looking forward to hearing your responses, ive been waiting to order my drives until i figure this out.
