I use TFC (temporary file cleaner) regularly now after downloading it while I was getting help from someone at this website.  After using TFC, the icon for Avira that is normally in the taskbar disappears.  It appears that Avira is still running because it's loaded in the windows task manager.  I am including a screen capture while Windows Task Manager is open, so you can see the process is still running, but the icon is gone.

Is this an issue with TFC, my computer, or is this just supposed to happen?

After using TFC, you should reboot the computer to ensure a complete clean of any in-use temp files. TFC will STOP Explorer and ALL other running apps BEFORE performing its routines and it is normal for the computer to be slow to boot after running TFC cleaner.

TFC was last updated by OldTimer 6/23/12...that was version 3.1.9.0 and it supported Windows XP/Vista/Win 7.
