All the crashes seem to be related to USB drivers. What USB devices are you using?

The BSOD points to a USBhub and probably a wireless card defective or driver problem. Remove the following then add them ONLY after the bluescreen subsides to find out the culprit clearly.

USBhub drivers - Go to device manager and reinstall the usb controllers by right-click uninstall then reboot computer.

*Renesas Electronics USB 3.0 Host Controller Driver (Version: 2.0.34.0) Is it part of your Acer laptop?

Realtek card - Go to Acer support site and install/reintall the correct and latest WLAN driver. http://www.acer.com/worldwide/support/download.htm

Mozilla version outdated - Go to Firefox Help Menu - About Firefox to auto download latest version in the background or install directly by downloading from this link http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/

:exclame: Comodo and AVG are both installed as outdated and both running could inflict system instability. I would suggest removing both and then replacing it with free Microsoft Security Essentials instead.

I'm still having the exact same problems, a few weeks later. Is there anything else I should try?

We need to know what you have plugged into your USB ports. There is one device that is causing your computer to crash. Once we identify this we can find the appropriate drivers that will fix the problem.

I agree with Lornhane, we need to know your usb devices in use. Since it is a laptop, it could be the built in webcam, mouse/touchpad etc.

Inspect all of the usb ports for any sign of damage. Shorted usb ports can cause big problems especially 3.0 ports, these have the amperage needed to melt usb mouse dongles (I have seen this done 1 time).

If I am helping you with a problem and I have not responded within 48 hours please send me a PM.

Let's check the BSOD dumps.

Please go to C:\Windows\Minidump folder. Do you see any dmp logs from the folder?  If yes, then read the instruction of the second paragraph below. If not, configure small memory dump debugging information under startup and recovery.

> Right-click My Computer and choose Properties.
> Go to Advanced System Settings - Advance Tab.
> Under Startup and Recovery, click Settings...
> Look for 'write debugging information' and use small memory dump
> Checkmark overwrite any existing file

If there are latest created minidumps under C:\Windows\Minidump folder, please post the latest dmp logs (atleast 5) by :
Note : If dmp logs from minidump folder is not allowed due to security or admin permission problem, disable UAC control temporarily
or see this link.
> Highlight (holding ctrl key) and choosing the latest dmp logs by hitting enter or left mouse click.
> Right-click and choose send to desktop.
> When on desktop, highlight all dmp logs and right-click and send to compressed zipped folder.
> Upload and share the link by registering here https://www.box.com/
* minidumps log sample 010613 - 16676 -01.dmp -> 01 is for month - 06 for day - 13 is for year.
* If you use any 3rd party software such as Ccleaner, please uncheck the minidumps box so as not to remove the dump files next time.

I know that I'm coming in late on this and I don't want to interrupt any communication flow here, but I will go out on a limb with this suggestion; it's quick and easy, will take one minute. Many times I have seen bad capacitors on the motherboard that cause strange, random glitches and crashes before they fail totally. Power down and remove the side panel of your desktop; use a flashlight and check the motherboard for bad caps.

Caps are small, upright round cylinders soldered to the mobo. They resemble small "Quaker Oats" boxes up on end. They should be perfectly flat on top with no bulges, no cracks. If you see the top bulging upward, brown or white "goo" on the top or bottom, or running down the side, that cap is bad. This has become increasingly common as manufacturers use cheap, untested, 3rd world junk capacitors for building, I see it all the time with older units that come in. I will try to attache a photo, but this board has a really small file size limit (which I really don't understand, but whatever). This will take you a couple of minutes and could save you hours of head-scratching. Hope you find your problem!

Info link: http://www.badcaps.net/pages.php?vid=5

Ok, the board won't allow me to upload the pic, 165k is too large.

Speccy indicated this is a laptop which will make looking for bad capacitors much more difficult. Most of the crash dumps point to a USB device or driver and then a few at the wireless adapter File Description  : Atheros Extensible Wireless LAN device driver
Product Name      : Driver for Atheros CB42/CB43/MB42/MB43 Network Adapter.

If that atheros wireless is a usb adapter: update the driver and see if it solves the problem. If it does not that device itself may have a problem.

:exclame: Comodo and AVG are both installed as outdated and both running could inflict system instability. I would suggest removing both and then replacing it with free Microsoft Security Essentials instead.

Yes, the Renesas Electronics USB 3.0 Host Controller Driver (Version: 2.0.34.0)is apart of the laptop, along with everything else.

We need to know what you have plugged into your USB ports. There is one device that is causing your computer to crash. Once we identify this we can find the appropriate drivers that will fix the problem.

Nothinghas been plugged in, apart from Apple USB charger for iPhone 4S. (The original one that came with the phone).

I've had a quick inspection of the USB ports, and there doesn't appear to be any physical damage from the outside.

* minidumps log sample 010613 - 16676 -01.dmp -> 01 is for month - 06 for day - 13 is for year.
* If you use any 3rd party software such as Ccleaner, please uncheck the minidumps box so as not to remove the dump files next time.

Acer Aspire Timeline x 4830T is the model of the laptop, if that helps. Could you point in the direction of the correct driver(s)?

If that atheros wireless is a usb adapter: update the driver and see if it solves the problem. If it does not that device itself may have a problem.

I don't know whether it's a USB adapter or not. Which driver?

Can you check the device manager and see if you can remove/uninstall yellow flags on USB devices controller particularly the last USB installed device? A reboot is required. If no items found, try USBDeview by downloading then extracting the software. Run USBDeview and locate the last installed software devices by right-clicking and select uninstall selected devices.

Please go to http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/drivers and download the most recent drivers for your wireless atheros card. Use the aspire 4830T as the model. Select the correct operating system. There are 3 different atheros wireless drivers for that model, you can try all of the downloads for atheros wireless...
