My printer(new)  prints very good, but it shrinks the letters down to 1/4 of a page, and its very small.  Is there something on the computer that I must change to make it acceptable?

Have you successfully installed the correct printer driver? It's hard to give specific advice since you don't say what printer it is, but what you're describing sounds like a setting that enables four pages to be printed on one sheet. Check the settings available in the options for the printer to see if such an option is enabled. If the printer is a photo printer an option like this may be the default.
