I am currently going to live in China for several years.

I will have a new expensive Windows 7 computer with a big HD, 16 GB of RAM, a fast processor, etc.

I want to make sure it is protected well.

Any suggestions on security software to detect the threats specific to China?

Anti-virus software?
Root it software?
Antikeylogger software?
Anti-advertising software?

Are all needed?

I have deceided on Online Armor firewall.

Threats specific to China. Or will any good general anti-virus software work? Or should I use one that works well in China and has a good track record in China? I have heard that Emsisoft antimalware works good in China., but Bitdefender is highest ranked.

I don't know about China or if geographic location even matters but I can tell you I use Bitdefender Total Security and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it.... I also use Malwarebytes paid version as my antispyware and would not trade them for anything regardless of where I may be in the world. The way I look at it is a Zbot Trojan is a Zbot Trojan is a Zbot Trojan regardless of where in the world you are and regardless of where you are you do not want it at all.... not even with green eggs and ham...  :hysterical:

I was even using Kaspersky before I got Bitdefender....... made the right move without a doubt by changing to Bitdefender.

I have already responded in your other thread here. Please do not start new threads or duplicate topics as this causes confusion and makes it more difficult to get the help you need to resolve your issues. Further, it necessitates staff spending time with housecleaning to remove or close those duplicate postings...time which could have been provided to others needing assistance. If you have follow up questions...then post them in your original topic.

Thanks for your cooperation.
