System: Laptop model HP 2000-410US

OS: windows 7 64bit Home 7 Home Premium

Several problems

1. When I initiate Windows update, I see there are 6 important updates and 6 opttional update. However when it tries to download and install the updates, windows update runs into problems and give the following error codes

Code 80246005

Code 80246008

Code 670

Tried everything but cannot get it to work

2. No sound.....some kind of audio service is not starting. i do not know what it means

3. No wifi...I see the wireless icon key with white light....meaning the wireless is on and also the Ethernet port is lit white and occasional rapid blinking of amber light.  But cannot go on the internet. The wireless router is connected to laptop via Ethernet cable.

4. No errors of any kind under device manager

5. when the laptop is turned on and when the login screen appears, the screen is very bright but as soon as i enter the first letter of the password, the screen dims and stays dim...i am not sure why ?

6. when the laptop is on and not used for few minutes, the screen goes black ( but the laptop is still on) but will not come back and only come back if the laptop is rebooted.

So far i have used cc cleaner but no luck.

cannot uninstall silverlight from control panel using add/remove programs.

You may have to do a reset of Windows update. It could be that those updates do not apply on your machine.

Post a screenshot of Windows update, with the updates that it states need to be installed, and then a screenshot of the post attempt.

Have you tried to manually download and install. The updates are not .Net that update is stating, per chance.

Your ethernet card is disabled. Please try going to the control panel/Device Manger/Network Adapters. There will probably be a yellow exclamation point by it. Try to enable it manually if you can.

No yellow exclaimation.

I see the following four entries there.

Atheros AR9485 802.11b/g/n WiFi Adapter

Bluetooth Device (Personal Area Network)

Bluetooth Device (RFCOMM Protocol TDI)

Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller

Please tell me which entry is for the ethernet card ?

It also shows your bluetooth devices are disabled. Please go again to the Device Manager/Network Adapters and right click each one and click enable, if disable is your only choice please click that and then reboot your computer. Hopefully Windows will recognize that they are disabled and reenable them for you.

They do not need Bluetooth for networking.

The Atheros & Realtek are you networking adapters.  Disregard Bluetooth, since you are not connecting to your phone (I hope you are not using your phone for Internet connectivity.).

Your wireless card isn't even being picked up by ipconfig above, unless you manually removed I would suggest posting another output of minitoolbox with just the list ip information checked.
