I have a Dell Inspiron desktop and the fans have not been working for some time now. The computer is doing weird stuff like a black screen appearing when I us search engines like Amazon and others. I have replaced the power supply but it did not help. I would like to lick this problem before I expend lots of money on a repair tech. Any answers out there?

What fans are you refering to...        The power supply fans or the mounted fans.

I prefer Linux. Windows 10 is just to invasive for me.

I suspect that with the intermittent operation that you have pushed the unit beyond its tolerances without the fans running..  Get it looked at before the CPU is toast and it would be cheaper to replace than repair.
