I have a 2 to answere to...

Desktop
early 2004
ACER
great when new
yes; Antivirus and Antispyware
McAfee, Spyware blaster, AdAware,
Spybot, HiJackThis.
Fast when new but got infected one
stage so a little slower than it should
be, still runs reasonably well.

Laptop
march 2006
ACER
good for a laptop
No Antivirus or Spyware.
Runs ok for a laptop Medium-Slow
