On my computer in task manager under services I see that VSS is stopped?

In services (local) I see Microsoft software shadow copy is not running and set at manual?

Aren't these supposed to be on all the time that the computer is on?

Isn't this supposed to be on auto?

And does this mean I have no shadow copy on drive D\?

Help?

VSS is stopped on mine, and I've never messed with it. Must be the default setting.
