Posted 05 January 2014 - 07:19 PM

I got a message from my Action Center yesterday morning telling me that I'd been infected with a "Win32/Small.CA virus" I did scans with...
Microsoft Security Essentials - This found nothing
Spybot Search and Destroy - This found nothing
Malwarebytes Antimalware (Trial) - 7 files were found (Log below)
I was wondering if there was a way to go about fixing this. It's slowing down my computer terribly, and I have a whole bunch of work I need to finish.

I'm currently scanning with ESET Smart Security 7 (Paid) after uninstalling Windows Security Essentials, although I read in places that this virus protection also does not see the virus.

Could it also be attributed to my Hard Drive also failing, or is this a different matter entirely?

Furthurmore, I was wondering if this could be attributed to my Windows Defender not starting (I didn't even realize I didn't have it turned on) but I get the message "Application failed to initialize: 0x800106ba . a problem caused Windows Defender Service to stop. To start the service restart the computer or search help and Support on how to start a service manually. " when I try to enable it through Control Panel.

Finally, does anyone have any general tips on how I can stop this from ever happening again?

I've backed up all my files that are needed, multiple times. I will update windows after ESET Smart Security 7 has finished it's scan.

Logs are attached below.
Thanks.

Got a bluescreen and it disabled my firewall when restarting. It won't let me start it back up again.
Damn, this is getting really bad really quickly.
