Hi, I have already tried the remedy that google led me to on this site. I followed all the instructions but when it came time to "merge" the dowloaded programme from my flash drive I was told that it would only accept binary code to merge with registry files. everything was goig as it should till then. I am running windows 7. Can anyone help please...

Is this the removal guide provided by Lawrence Abrams that you are referring to?

Thank you Arachibutyrophobia, but I still get the same message, "cannot import E:\RegFix.reg: The specified file is not a registry script. You can only import binary registry files from within the registry editor."

Open the downloaded RemVimes.reg (or RegFix.reg if using dc3's link) in notepad select "Save As" under the "File" drop down list - change "Save as type" to "all files" & then try again. (screenshot attached)
