Running ver 7.0.4 on an Ipad 2

My grandson was playing a game this morning, and later when he went to play it again, the entire games folder where I had it stored............gone!  No idea what happened, and I don't think it was anything he did. I've checked settings and the game apps aren't there. I tried downloading again from the ITunes app, but when I do that, a greyed out box appears on the home screen. I've noticed that for the last couple of days.

Any idea about what happened and how to get it back?

Never heard of it before, but let's see what we can do.

How To Force Respring your iDevice

To force respring, hold both the power button then home button together until the device powers off, then the Apple logo appears.

See what happens after you do this, they probably will not return, but this may allow you to redownload.
