A few years ago I was taught how to edit text using paint.net.  Sadly the lesson didn't take and I'm now looking for assistance with a handful of simple text changes, e.g. "March 3-7"  -->  "March 2-8".

Hi Alan in Toledo,
Editing the text on a PaintDotNet will vary depending on how you want it you look.

Do you have a link to what you are changing?

On my Senior Men's Tennis website (http://supersenior.info/) it's the date in the Adult/Senior Tournaments image in the right-hand column (should be changed to March 2-7).

There are multiple ways to go about this, for what you are trying to do I am showing you one way.

This has been done before on the red letters.

IMHO it would be easier and look better to block the whole dark grey area out and rewrite everything.

The steps that follow can be used to guide you through the process of changing either the date or the entire banner.

same procedure

Open the image in paint.net

Open the tools press F5

Open the color Pallette F8

Use the color picker tool and select the grey color where the letters reside

using the Rectangle select key and  outline the letters you want to change - hit the backspace key and these letters will turn that background color

Choose the text tool choose the colors from the pallette that you want the letters to be

After typing the letters before releasing (you can move the text around and adjust the size, font and color)
