thinking about this for my next comp. is there anything anyone would change? want to keep price range similar. also the processor was out of stock is there a better choice i can get?

Perhaps if you're going with a discrete graphics card you could substitute the Athlon APU for an FX-4300 and AM3+ board as that IGP is just going to go unused?  This spec here comes out at within a few dollars of yours (on PC Partpicker) and doubles the RAM to 8gb.

EDIT Corection - it appears from what I'm reading that although the Athlon uses the same Richland core as the A series APU's, the IGP is factory disabled anyway.  Performance of the Athlon X4 760K and the FX-4300 seems very close, with a slight edge to the FX-4300 in some tests.  The Athlon X4 is factory unlocked.  But not much in it either way...

total price is around $450 and as far as what its going to be used for is gaming, how far will this build take me before am gonna have to seriously look into another build?

At least 2 years but it depends on the resolution you will be gaming at.
