Connecting an old G3 Powerbook to a router

I have an old G3 Powerbook that I want to connect via an ethernet cable to a Netopia Router. I have Googled around and I fing references to setting up a TCP/IP but no instructions . Can anyone help me?

Which PB G3 is it exactly, and which OS is it running?
