I have run Xoftspy and it tells me there is a Feat browser helper I then follow instructions to remove it. (A BHO scan followed by a Smartscan) which puts my Home page back to blank. I then change the home page in IE6 back to Google ie www.google.com . BUT on subsequent scans with Xoftspy it continues to show the Feat BHO and requires removal

This is the first time I've used Hijack can I ask for your help in understanding the logfile and what to do please

Thanks

Terry

When responding to a post from one of our HJT Team members, please reply in the same topic - click the Add Reply button. Do not create a new topic for your reply. This will cause confusion and only cause a delay in the help you are receiving.

When choosing anti-spyware protection, you should rely on products with deserved reputations and proven track records:
Xoftspy is a rogue anti-spy software.
http://www.spywarewarrior.com/rogue_anti-spyware.htm
You can use these free programs: Ad-Aware SE, Spybot Search & Destroy + SpywareBlaster.
Please uninstall Xoftspy from Add\Remove Programs.

Please follow all the instructions above and then post a fresh HJT log.

Click the Add Reply button to post your reply.

ie O2 - BHO: (no name) - {99A10100-66BB-11D4-A02A-00600818E7D8} - (no file)

This BHO - Browser Helper Object is not installed by malware. It is a legitimate part of WinZip.
The file is missing or it is not registered.

SpyBot Search & Destroy TeaTimer is probably interfering with the fix. Temporarily disable TeaTimer and fix the BHO with HijackThis if you wish. But this is not necessary.

Your log looks clean .
