THE FIX OR SOLUTION: I have to say first thanks to everyone who offered their help with my problem. I believe that for whatever reason, my computer was past all of the suggested solutions and I ended up opting for the reinstallation. Even that was not without it's frustrations. After I received my instruments including 2 discs and a USB stick, I held up the 2 discs in my left hand and the stick in the other an yelled out real loud. WHAT DO I DO NEXT? There we no instructions or suggestions, so because I still have time left on my warranty service contract, I signed on for a chat with the Tech group. I was happily greeted by a Tech who in the end, directed me to YouTube to see a tutuorial (with sound) on how to use my reinstallation tools. Since anything they suggested required me going to "Start" or some kind of "starting point" I was finished with that because I simply didn't have anything but a screen with a scene showing the Space Needle and some hills. behind that was the sigh-in screen and when you do that, all you see is the virus. I opted to try the chat again and this time I was given a phone number that was supposed to be the home of the "experts" on the subject but was turned away with "we don't do that here" and was referred to Tech Support which is where I wanted to go in the first place.. After two hours, we finally got the computer back. This guy was good and I understood him from beginning to end. I never woulda/coulda done it on my own but all of what I said in the aforementioned makes me realized why FORUMS ARE ESPECIALLY IMPORTANT TO ME. We are no longer going to get the help we need from the manufacturers or sellers of this equipment. I call it the PAPERLESS JUNGLE. Most likely I will be on this forum again and with pleasure.
