Sometimes when I restart my computer, all animations will run in slow motion. When I log in, the fade out from the Windows logo to the desktop will run very slow. Minimizing and maximizing windows will slowly fade in and out. Playing AVI files with VLC will stutter. Running a game will make all graphics and animations again, run in slow motion.

I've tried:

Uninstalling and "cleaning" my graphics card drivers, and then reinstalling.

Looking in my events log for any strange problems

Several sweeps for malware and viruses

Unplugging peripherals

Looking at problem devices in device manager

I just do not know what to try next. Typically after I reboot my computer enough times, the problem will correct itself and it wont happen again until I restart.

Windows 7

AMD Radeon HD 7800 Series
Intel Core i7 920
Corsair TX 650W Power Supply
Asus P6T Deluxe V2
3 x Kingston ValueRAM DDR3-1333 2048MB

I can supply any further information as needed.

Firewall reflects disabled status.yet is reflected as running service.

What is Sick Beard?

If it were me...I'd take a look at whatever is running at boot...and I would take a look at processes running right after boot...and I would run chkdsk /r on the Windows partition, followed by a hard drive diagnostic.

Sick Beard is a PVR that automatically downloads things from Usenet.

Curious about the firewall. I've had problems with my firewall and other MS services being disabled by a virus that I had people on Bleeping Computer help me out with.

Is there a way to get a list of boot processes that I can post? I should say that I thought of that as being the culprit before and disabled as many as I could. I also tried timing my start up processes. I forget what program I used but I pushed everything I could to start after all of the Windows services loaded.

CHKDSK found no errors.
