Hey all...recent upgrade to win7; comp runs like *6*&&%.  Disabled two HD4800 vid cards and it runs poorly but maybe better.  Used driver fusion to uninstall vid card drivers and got this crash.  Have both disabled now and limping along as poorly as ever....any help is appreciated....

Did you run the Windows 7 compatibility test to make sure your computer can run Windows 7?

What is the make and model of this computer.

Please download and install Speccy to provide us with information about your computer.  When the  FileHippo website opens, click on Download latest version in the upper right pane.

When Speccy opens you will see a screen similar to the one below.

speccy9_zps2d9cdedc.png

Click on File which is outlined in red in the screen above, and then click on Publish Snapshot.

The following screen will appear, click on Yes.

speccy7_zpsfa02105f.png

The following screen will appear, click on Copy to Clipboard.

In your next post right click inside the Reply to Topic box, then click on Paste.  This will load a link to the Speccy log.

Please download MiniToolBox  , save it to your desktop and run it.

 Checkmark the following checkboxes:

• List last 10 Event Viewer log
• List Installed Programs
• List Users, Partitions and Memory size.
• List Minidump Files

Click on Go to start the scan.  Once it is finished highlight the text, copy it and paste it in your next post.

Family and loved ones will always be a priority in my daily life.  You never know when one will leave you.

Seems that when the HD4800 video cards are disabled, the computer runs fine.  Either one of them enabled either bogs it down, or causes boot crash.  I deleted every driver related entry for them and re-installed using driver fusion.  It now indicates that the best drivers are installed.  Did the win 7 compatibility test and it indicated that the 4800's and every other device is compatible.

Does this problem remain when you boot into Safe Mode?

I will enable a vid card and see what happens.  If it accepts that, then I'll reboot in safe mode and report....

OK.  enabled 1st card.  required re-start.  booted normally.  Computer showed marked slowdown.  enabled 2nd card; crash/dump; restart in safe mode.  comp runs in safe mode dead slow.

Ok... I'm getting enough information now to begin to understand what is going on.  You have a Biostar TA790gx A2+ motherboard which has integrated graphics.  You also have two ATI Dadeon HD 4800 series graphics card running in Crossfire.

If the integrated graphics is used the computer operates normally, but comes to a crawl when you install the two graphics cards.

Am I correct so far?

Have you tried running the ATI cards one at a time to see if there is a problem with one of them?

Yes. You have described the comp configuration.  When I run one of the 4800's the computer crawls.  When I engage the 2nd I get a blue screen crash.  I have always tried engaging them in the same order that they appear in the device manager.  When both are disabled the computer appears to run well, within the limits of the onboard graphics...

In my last post I asked if you had run these cards one at a time to see if there is a problem with either of them.  Have you done this?

Ran card 1, comp slowed way down.

Added card 2 crossfire, comp crashed.

Enabling card 2 alone now....

Ok.  Either way I engage the cards gets the same result.

A) enable card 1, comp slows; enable card 2, re-start required; blue screen crash

B) enable card 2, comp slows; enable card 1, re-start required; blue screen crash
