Hi, I posted last weekend. I'm really ever on this computer on the weekends to work on my homework.  I had a great helper, who had me download and run all sorts of things to try to clear up my issues.  Unfortunately, it didn't fix the issue.  It sounds as though there's an ad or video playing, but it's choppy like it's not playing correctly.  The thing is, I had no sites open at that point, and when it is happening, there are never sites where a video is playing open at all!  I put the speakers on mute so I don't have to deal with the noise, but when the computer is doing this, everything runs super slowly.  What can I do to fix this bleeping computer?!

What I ran last weekend (according to what is now on my desktop: minitoolbox, adwcleaner, jrt, and fss.  No improvements.  I really don't want to have to buy a new computer right now.  But I need a computer for my PhD program.  And this one is now having issues opening and running things.  I keep having to restart it, but when i do, half the time it doesn't boot back up. It just goes indefinitely to a black screen, but the white mouse is visible and movable.
