I recently bought a new mouse, a logitech m570 to replace my m310. When I tried to install it it said the driver software was installed successfully but the mouse would not work, so I plug my old mouse back in and now it wouldn't work either. I am using the m570 right now on the same computer just running a different os on a different hdd so its not the port or the mouse. When I open the unifying software that came with the mouse both mice are listed active and it recognizes when I try to use them. I am able to get the m570 to work for a minute or two if before I restart I go into device manager and delete all the unknown drivers under other devices. Also mice and other pointing devices is missing from device manager. I got a wired mouse from an friend and when I tried to use it the same thing happened. I then noticed that the mouse stops working just as I get a popup that says "device driver software installed successfully". After a restart I was able to get to the device manager before the popup and noticed that "mice and other pointing devices" was there but disappears after the popup. If I continue ending the installation process as soon as I login I can get the mouse to work for 3-5 mins in till it eventually beats me to it and installs. It seems once the mouse drivers install it causes something to go wrong. I am ok with computers but this is completely above me. I appreciate any help, thanks

You say you installed this Logitech mouse 'recently'. Have you tried doing a Windows restore to a date before this time ?  This might at least get your USB mouse working and you could then take your problem from there.

One other point occurs to me - uninstall the software for both the 570 and the 310, reboot and re-install the drivers for the 570. There could be a conflict between the two sets of drivers.
