Thunderbird and outlook.com

I'm trying to set up Thunderbird with outlook.com but I get is "Thunderbird failed to find the settings for your email account". I spent about 6 hours yesterday trying to solve this problem and none of the solutions I've found works for me. I've also tried using POP3 and that doesn't work either. I'm also absolutely sure I'm using the correct password. The settings I'm using are as follows:

 

Incoming
IMAP
Server hostname: imap-mail.outlook.com
Port: 993
SSL: SSL/TLS
Authentication: Normal password

 

Outgoing
SMTP
Server hostname: smtp-mail.outlook.com
Port: 587
SSL: STARTTLS
Authentication: Normal password

Username: name@outlook.com

 

So, what am I doing wrong?

To set up Thunderbird to sync to your Outlook.com account’s email:

 

1.       Open Thunderbird.

2.       From the Application menu, choose Add Account…

3.       Input your account information, choose Options… then Account Settings…

4.       Click the Account Actions button, then choose Add Mail Account…

5.       Input your account information.

6.       Click Continue.

7.       Click Manual config.

8.       Set the Incoming settings as follows:

          a.       Server hostname: imap-mail.outlook.com.

          b.      Port: 993.

          c.       SSL: SSL/TLS.

          d.      Authentication: Normal password.

 

9.       Set the Outgoing settings as follows:  

          a.       Server hostname: smtp-mail.outlook.com.

          b.      Port: 587.

          c.       SSL: STARTTLS.

          d.      Authentication: Normal password.

 

10.   Click Done.

I hope this works for You, I do use Thunderbird but not with Webmail
