I am Spanish. I do not speak English. Sorry for the inconvenience. For several months, I noticed my windows vista q did not work well. Duplicate folders, duplicate images, access denied. A disaster and I saw two folders q $ Recycle.bin and Sistem Volume Information. The thousand times I deleted and reappear. I formatted, I installed Linux on an external drive and it has also appeared the virus. It has drawn attention q antivirus can not remember which, I stated "those folders are invisible" to our program. Whereupon as I have little to do. The computer is six years old and well. Can anyone help me? Thank you.

:step1: Please download the Farbar Recovery Scan Tool
Download: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/farbar-recovery-scan-tool/
Select the version that applies to your system.
Save it to your Desktop.

Double-click the downloaded file to run it.
When the tool opens click Yes to the disclaimer.

Press the Scan button.

The tool makes a log (FRST.txt) in the same directory from which the tool is run (Desktop).
>> Please provide the FRST.txt in your reply.

The first time the tool is run, it also makes another log: Addition.txt
>> Also post the Addition.txt in your reply.

:step2: Next, download UsbFix:
http://www.en.usbfix.net
Save to the Desktop.
Double-click the downloaded USBFix file to run it.

If it gives you a language option, select Spanish, if you wish.
Connect the external USB drive!

Press: Research
When done, the program closes on its own, and a report appears.
(The report file is also found at C:\UsbFix.txt)

>> Please post the UsbFix.txt (Research Mode) report in your reply.

:step3: Once again, run USBFix, but, this time, press: Listing
>> Also post the UsbFix.txt (Listing Mode) report in your reply.

Note 1: If USBFix does not run in normal Windows, please run in Safe Mode:
Restart your computer.
When the computer starts, tap the F8 key on the keyboard repeatedly until presented with the Advanced Boot Options menu
Using the arrow keys, select: Safe Mode
Press the Enter key on your keyboard to boot into the selected mode.

Note 2: If your AntiVirus program detects USB as malware, either let the AV program allow USBFix to run, or, temporarily disable your AntiVirus program:
Info - http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/114351/how-to-temporarily-disable-your-anti-virus-firewall-and-anti-malware-programs/
When done with USBFix, re-enable your AV!

Attached File  Addition.txt   17.14KB   0 downloads

I attached the two files.
UsbFix to reach 16% of research and not responding. I tried three times and the computer stops.
If I could do more, feel free to answer. I am very grateful.

ceciliamerry,

Is there a reason for you wanting to delete the system folders $RECYCLE.BIN, and, System Volume Information?

Are you having some sort of problem with them?

System Volume Information is used by System Restore (System Protection) to keep Restore Points.

$RECYCLE.BIN is used to store deleted files for that specific volume until emptied from the Recycle Bin.

Need to have you use the following...

Please download Security Check:
http://screen317.spywareinfoforum.org/
 Save to your Desktop.
 Double-click: SecurityCheck.exe
Follow the onscreen instructions inside the black box.

When done, a Notepad report opens automatically, called: checkup.txt

>> Please post the checkup.txt in your reply.
(Please do not take any corrective actions!)

How to Use the Snipping Tool in Vista > http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/148532-how-use-snipping-tool-vista.html

Tambien, haz lo siguiente:

Please go to Start > All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt

At the blinking cursor of the Command Prompt, type in (or copy/paste with mouse) the following command, and press Enter:

dir /a C:\Users\Cecilia

To copy the text contained/produced in the Command Prompt, click on the small command icon in the top left corner, and then choose:

Edit > Select All

Once again, Edit > Copy

Open Notepad, and paste the text to it.

>> Please post the text in your reply.

To close the Command Prompt, use the [X], or type in: exit  Press: Enter

•Capture the desired window by holding the 'Alt' key and pressing the 'Print Screen' key (often just labeled 'Prt Sc') on your keyboard.
•Open an image editing application such as the MS Paint program under: Start > Accessories
•Paste the captured image into MS Paint.

•In MS Paint, go to: File > Save
•Save the image to the Desktop, with File name: 2carpetas

•Save as Type: JPEG

•Below the area where you post a reply, look for: Attachments
•Click the Browse button, and locate the file on your Desktop
•Select: 2carpetas.jpg
•When it appears in the Browse area, click: Attach This File

•Close out of the Attachments prompt, and select: Submit Reply

Start > All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt
