Just bought a new Dell with Windows 8 installed.  Have done all the upgrades.  I did

get a notice to go to the Windows Store to get Windows 8.1 upgrade.  When I go there

I can't find the link for the upgrade.  I've read that you had to get every update before

upgrading.  I think I've done that.

I also read that there was a Microsoft fix for the update.  I checked and it is already

installed on the computer.  It was kib 2871389.

I'm almost ready to run this back to factory specifications.  I really don't

want to do this.  Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do.

Thanks,

Steve Bell

Have you tried refreshing the content in the store?

  1. Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, then tap Search.
(If you're using a mouse, point to the top-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer down, then click Search.)

  2. Enter run in the search box, then tap or click Run.

  3. Enter wsreset.exe in the Run command, then tap or click OK.

  4. Restart your PC.

  5. On the Start screen, tap or click Store, and check to see if Windows 8.1 now appears on the Store home screen.

Thanks for the response.  I tried exactly as you said.  Still no 8.1 upgrade.  I have done several computer and had no problem in

updating.  I don't know what the problem is with this Dell computer.

If you think of something else I could try, I would sure appreciate it.

Does it make any sense to take the machine back to factory conditions and start over again?

Going to call MS first and see if they have any suggestions.  Will post back and let you know what I found out.

Most likely they pulled it again. Calling may end up just sending you in circles, so just use patience with the rep.
