Alright, so here is my problem. I play a game where DoS attacks are common and more personal then your typical game. When you are attacked it usually lasts a few hours if you cannot change your ip address. Therein lies my problem, I am able to change my routers MAC address, which results in a new ip address. However even though my public ip has changed I am still unable to connect to the internet until after the attack has stooped.
Even stranger then that, if my old ip is attacked I still get knocked offline, I am 100% sure my public ip is different, I have checked ip chicken before and after. I have even ran tests where I change my public ip, give my friend my old ip and have him attack it, and I still go offline. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, my set up is a simple wired modem (Motorola SB6141) connecting to a Netgear router (WNR3500L).
I'm not sure if this is the right section to be posting this, but I appreciate any response.
